In 2019, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi envisioned making India a USD 5 trillion economy and a global economic powerhouse by 2024-25. The overwhelming struggles imposed to businesses by the lockdown and restrictions, make it much more challenging to achieve this goal. Remarkably, MSMEs as the backbone of India’s economy, play a significant role in fulfilling this goal. Getting out of lockdown that squashed the sector severely, MSMEs are feeling liberated, hoping to step up for recovery as well as to touch the aimed 50% contribution to the GDP; however, it seems impossible to be revived and take part in fulfilling the USD 5 trillion economy goal, without being supported by the government and other relevant organisations.
In this Episode, we will discuss and deliberate on "MSMEs and the USD 5 Trillion Economy", and role of MSME sector in achieving this goal as well as solutions for issues MSMEs face while stepping in the ways to achieve the goal.
