Various news reports have bought to the fore, cases of non-conformity with BIS and the state of quality standards, certification and compliances among MSME Sellers in India.
In an effort to educate India's seller ecosystem about necessary standards and compliances to be followed, the India SME Forum, India’s largest organisation for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Forum for Internet Retailers, Sellers & Traders, is organising a Stakeholder Round Table discussion, to focus on the challenges and issues faced by MSME sellers in BIS compliance, ease of attaining certification for standards, best practices to remain compliant and how to strengthen the seller-regulator collaboration in India's digital commerce ecosystem. The discussion will also offer a unique opportunity to foster greater understanding between sellers, industry leaders, and regulators with the aim to enable sellers to thrive with the right knowledge, tools, and transparency.
The Round Table is part of the nationwide seller education campaign to raise awareness on Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) compliance, launched by India SME Forum, in association with AMAZON India, and under the MSME Champions & Sustainable Certification Scheme of the Ministry of MSMEs. The capacity building of MSMEs would be achieved through a series of workshops, webinars, educational videos along with practical content and hand holding support.
Industry leaders, quality, standards and legal metrology experts will join the round table along with selected MSME sellers from across the country and various consumer facing sectors.
We invite you to the Round Table and look forward to your participation.
